Program Overview
The One-Year Islamic Intensive is designed as a transformative gap year program, focusing primarily on establishing a solid foundation in essential Islamic knowledge and Arabic language. The Islamic sciences curriculum emphasizes what is obligatory for every Muslim to know, ensuring students develop a firm understanding of their religious obligations and core beliefs. This immersive experience combines academic rigor with spiritual development, while also introducing students to the broader Islamic sciences to cultivate an appreciation for their depth and significance in Islamic scholarship.

Core Components

Arabic Language Foundation

- Intensive Arabic grammar and vocabulary
- Classical Arabic texts
- Arabic communication
- Arabic composition and literature

Comprehensive Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh)

- Detailed study of core jurisprudential topics
 - Regular workshops addressing contemporary issues
 - Practical application of Islamic law in modern contexts

Islamic Creed (Aqeedah)

- Comprehensive study of Islamic theology
 - Understanding different methodologies
 - Addressing modern theological challenges

Quranic Studies

- In-depth explanation of selected surahs
 - Word-by-word analysis of key passages
 - Themes and concepts in the Quran

Prophetic Biography and Islamic History

- Comprehensive study of the Prophet's ﷺ life
 - Analysis of key historical events
 - Lessons from Islamic civilization

Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence (Usool Al-Fiqh)

- Overview of legal methodology
 - Basic understanding of legal principles
 - Appreciation of juristic reasoning

Principles of Hadith (Usool Al-Hadith)

- Introduction to hadith classification
 - Basic terminology and concepts

Quranic Sciences (Uloom Al-Quran)

- Introduction to Quranic compilation
 - Basic principles of interpretation
 - Overview of Quranic studies

This introduction to advanced Islamic sciences aims not to provide expertise, but to give students an appreciation for these disciplines and their crucial role in preserving and understanding Islamic knowledge.

Spiritual Development

- Daily spiritual objectives and reflections
- Weekly one-on-one coaching sessions
- Monthly tarbiyyah retreats

Daily Schedule

- Morning Session (8:00 AM - 12:45 PM): Core Arabic and Islamic Studies
- Lunch and Salah Break (12:45 PM - 2:00 PM)
- Afternoon Session (2:00 PM - 3:30 PM): Specialized Topics and Workshops
- Evening Study Session: Mandatory 2-hour supervised study period

Boarding Facilities

Admission Requirements

1. Age 16 and up.
2. Full proficiency in reading Qur'an. (Students may be accepted if not fluent but will be required to sit in additional classes to improve fluency.)

3. Ability to study full-time and devotion to study. It is not possible to only study a portion of the program. This program is not offered part time. The full time program includes the mandatory study session in the evening. Exceptions will only be granted on a case-by-case basis.

4. Willingness to learn and adapt.

Program Fees

- Yearly Tuition: $4,200
- Accommodation and Meals (Annual): $4,000
- Materials and Registration: $300
- Total Program Cost: $8,500

- Successful students can progress directly into Year 2 of the Aalimiyah Program
